Nearly everyone has a coin jar in their home. It could be an old coffee can, or an old jar, that holds loads of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies. Then, you can either take your slip to the customer service booth or to a cash register to receive the amount in cash. The best way to do this is to bring your change to the grocery store, or other coin star location, in a bucket of some sort. Or, you can simply bring your change jar to the location. Pour your change into the coin star machine by following the directions on the screen. Don’t pour it in too fast as the machine needs time to separate and process your change. The machine will charge a small fee, a small percentage for using the machine, and then will indicate what you have left on the screen. When you are finished, you simply cash out. The coin star machine will then print a small paper slip with a dollar amount on it. This is the amount of money you are set to receive in cash.

When you’re ready to check out of the grocery store, you can bring the slip to the cash register and can use it towards your groceries. Or, you can just receive the amount in cash.
